Yoga with Ann

Yoga with Ann is born from her passion to empower others live their best lives. This starts with a focus on helping the mind, body, & spirit as an optimized, unified system. She specializes in yoga for those who don't think they are flexible enough to do yoga. If you think that yoga requires a certain level of flexibility, Ann's teacher Yogi Aaron would challenge you to ask yourself, "How much flexibility do you need to be happy?"

True yoga is not about touching your toes, it's about finding a steadiness & ease in your postures. Certainly, there are some basic movement patterns in life that are easier if we have a certain range of motion. In order to expand our range of motion, we start with identifying our current capability by listening to what muscles feel strong and which ones feel weak. We treat pain in the body as a check engine light and use that feedback to guide how and where to start to our practice.

Once we start to pay attention to muscle tightness, we can begin to build strength and stability with the goal of leading a life that has less pain. Ann's goal is to help you assess what areas in your body are experiencing pain, tightness, and muscle weakness, and then provide you practical means to address it.

Issues like chronic pain can hold us back from living an empowered and fulfilling life. As an AYAMA specialist, Ann's job is to help address issues in your body so that you can turn your full attention to the whole system. Yoga, by definition, is the yoking of mind & body. It's a multistep journey, and one that starts by taking the first steps of establishing a practice.

As a Student

In 2010, Ann's journey to yoga started at a 24-Hour Fitness class. She was inspired to continue the practice after finding an inner sense of peace and calm, while experiencing improved mobility. Through yoga, Ann found mental and physical stability.

After her practice moved from the gym to her house, she decided to seek a yoga teacher training program to deepen her own self practice, minimizing the need for in person instruction for her regular practice.

As a Teacher

In the fall of 2021, Ann studied at Blue Osa Yoga Retreat & Spa under Yogi Aaron, Master Yoga Teacher & creator of the Applied Yoga Anatomy and Muscle Activation (AYAMA) Framework. This time at the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training was deeply transformative for her. In addition to deepening her own practice, the training ignited a spark of passion to teach Yoga and to live life to her fullest potential.

In the midst of being a full-time business owner, Ann started working with a small group of students upon her return home. She quickly fell in love with helping her students live with less pain and an improved sense of well-being.

In 2024, Ann returned to Blue Osa and completed her 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training and received her Applied Yoga Anatomy & Muscle Activation (AYAMA) certification.

The power of AYAMA has helped Ann heal from various injuries accrued from horse-back riding and living an active life.
